EQUITY BANK TZ LAUNCHES EAZZY 24/7 MOBILE BANKING PLATFORM

-The Bank has also Sponsored the Real Madrid football club's Legends current visit to Tanzania to coincide with the launch

Dar es-salaam - Equity Bank Tanzania, has today unveiled its latest innovation dubbed EAZZY 24/7, mobile phone banking platform.

Eazzy 24/7 allows the Bank’s customers to access banking services using their mobile phone. The service is accessible through Vodacom, Airtel, Tigo, and Zantel. The platform allows customers to carry out various transactions such as Airtime top up, Transfer funds, Pay bills for DSTV, Buy Luku, as well check their Bank balances. 

Speaking during the launch, Equity Bank Tanzania Managing Director Joseph Iha, said, “The introduction of the Eazzy 24/7 mobile banking platform, which allows customers to access their banking facilities through their mobile phones, will mean that users are able to transact anywhere, anytime conveniently. The fresh innovation that we have launched is in line with our commitment to make banking services accessible and affordable for our people.”

The cost effective and adaptable service is expected to bring in more people into the formal banking system. “Taking banking services closer to the people has been a challenge for banks and Eazzy 24/7 will help reduce transaction costs and greatly improve the payment system," said Equity Bank TZ MD, Joseph Iha.

Already, Equity Bank’s customers can enjoy such benefits after the Bank on Saturday officially launched Eazzy 24/7, taking its branches to the mobile handset devices.
The introduction of this service means that Equity Bank account holders can now credit and transfer cash into each other's account using their mobile phones in real time. Equity Bank clients will also be able to pay their utility bills, purchase airtime, request their bank statements and perform other crucial banking enquiries.
The Bank’s core-banking system was recently upgraded to Finacle 10. The enhanced solution allows over 9 million Equity Bank Group customers to transact seamlessly across five countries- Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan. The core-banking system has continued to support the Bank’s efforts to roll out offerings faster, explore new lines of business such as mobile banking and deliver a superior banking experience to its customers.

Visiting EX - Real Madrid's star -studded team which features the likes of Christian Karembeu, Ruben De La Red and Luis Figo at the Equity 24/7 Mobile platform launch before later facing Tanzania's Select XI squad at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam which close to 40,000 football fans led by President Jakaya Kikwete and other prominent spectators attended  amid pomp and fanfare.
The launch went parallel with Real Madrid world famously referred to as Los Galaticos - Ex star studded players visiting the Tanzania. Equity Bank is a proud sponsor of the Real Madrid Visit to Tanzania which aimed at enriching sporting talent amongst youth in Tanzania. The Real Madrid team has been in the country from Friday, 22nd August 2014 and will stay till Tuesday, 26th August 2014.
