EAGLE AFRICA STEPS UP REGIONAL EXPANSION - UGANDA

Eagle Africa Insurance Brokers, the largest Insurance Broker in the East African region has stepped up its regional expansion strategy with the formal opening of a branch in Uganda, effectively covering Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The expansion has been facilitated by a partnership agreement between Eagle Africa and PRP Insurance Services Limited. The company will trade under the name Eagle Africa Insurance Services Uganda Limited.

While welcoming the new partners, PRP Principal Officer Francis Rutabuzwa said, “This partnership will enable us to offer our clients a wider range of insurance products due to the wide network affiliation, both local and international, that Eagle Africa has brought on board. I would like to assure our clients of continued excellence in service provision and innovative products that will continue to respond to all your needs”

“This is indeed a major milestone for us as only one year ago we were opening the Tanzania branch” said Eagle Africa Insurance Brokers Managing Director Sam Ncheeri during the opening ceremony. “This partnership is the culmination of discussions that started one year ago and we look forward to making a great contribution to the economic growth of Uganda and the East African Community as a whole”

“The maturation of this partnership is indeed timely as we are celebrating the coming to fruition of the East African Common Market Protocol” said Ugandan Minister for East African Community Affairs Hon. Eriya Kategaya while officiating at the opening ceremony. “But, even as we welcome you to our beloved country, we challenge you to live up to your promise of excellence in service provision and speedy claims settlement so that more Ugandans can see the value of insurance in their lives”

PRP Insurance was incorporated in 1997 and licensed to carry out Life and Non Life Insurance Business by the Uganda Insurance Commission in the same year. Eagle Africa Insurance Brokers is the largest insurance intermediary in East Africa, with a turnover of US$.60 million. It brings on board partnerships with Gras Savoye, the biggest French insurance intermediary and Willis, the third largest insurance broker in the world.

Eagle Africa Insurance Services Uganda Limited will have among its product offerings: Political Risks, Terrorism, Kidnap and Ransom, Directors and Officers Liability, Pension Funds Administration, Full range of Healthcare Products, specialized policies for the oil Industry including pollution and oil spillage.
