Commercial Bank of Africa, the largest privately owned bank in the region has fully sponsored four secondary school students through Palmhouse Foundation - an Education Trust that was founded in 2002. The Kshs 1,000,000 sponsorship will fully facilitate school fees needs for the four years the students will be studying.
The foundation has for the last 11 years uplifted the lives of more than 300 deserving students who come from challenging backgrounds and show promise in their academic and leadership ability.
At this year’s student send off ceremony held at All Saints Cathedral, the eager students could not hide their joy and appreciation. The CBA sponsorship beneficiaries Jane Wanjiru (13 years), Francis Mulei (13 years), John Kirika (15 years) and Awuor Shellyvane (13 years) remained thankful and promised to work hard, excel and give back to the community.
CBA Brand Manager Martin Njuguna said that, “This partnership with Palmhouse Foundation is a worthy initiative for CBA. We are passionate about empowering people to achieve their dreams and reach their highest potential”.
The four students will be attending Asumbi Girls in Kisii, Maseno School, Moi Miruri Secondary School in Embu, and Kisumu Girls respectively.
