Regional retailer Nakumatt Holdings is this weekend
set to open the doors to its 42nd branch as it seeks to maintain its branch
expansion tempo. As part of its branch expansion strategy, Nakumatt South
C supermarket located at Mugoya estate shopping centre will officially open its
doors tomorrow morning.

Speaking when he confirmed the scheduled opening,
Nakumatt Holdings Managing Director Atul Shah said the opening, is part of an
elaborate business recovery plan following the destruction of its former
Nakumatt Westgate hypermarket. The new store, he added is coming on stream as part of
Nakumatt’s corporate strategy to beef up its Nairobi Metropolitan footprint
while supporting Nairobi County Government’s efforts to deepen formal retail
trade. Around, Nairobi County, Nakumatt Holdings currently has a branch network
of 17 branches.
“Purely based on a recent market research, Nakumatt is
now setting the stage for a concertedeffort to beef up our Nairobi Metropolitan
presence which will ultimately see us opening at least five more branches
within Nairobi County in coming months,” Shah said.
He added that, “besides Nakumatt South C which is our
18th Nairobi branch, plans are now underway for the opening of Nakumatt Express
at Lavington and Nakumatt Eastlands near Donholm very soon.”
Covering a shopping floor space of 17,000sq feet, the new
Nakumatt South C store also joins the ranks of Nakumatt’s energy efficient
stores. The new store features a wide range of energy conserving amenities
imported from Italy including Freezers, Chillers and Lighting systems, which
are some of the notable highenergy consuming elements in the retail sector.
The store has, been tastefully arranged with wide aisles
and shelves loaded with a wide selection of to choose from ranging from Fresh
Produce, to Lifestyle products such as electronics, clothing, toys,
brandedfoods and general products. ALL UNDER ONE ROOF!
