-30 boys and girls together with their teachers visit Airtel offices to tour the establishment to learn about telecoms
Freetown - Students from Tower Hill Kindergarten Primary School in Freetown paid a visit to Airtel offices to tour the facilities in order to learn how the industry works. The students who have recently undertaken their National Primary School Examination (NPSE) made the tour with their teachers in order to fulfill part of their school curriculum.
The children had a conducted tour led by personnel from the Human Resources and the Corporate Communications Office. They were given the opportunity to ask questions in the various departments. Staff willingly answered their questions and the children made notes as they went along.
The two key highlights of their visit was meeting the Managing Director and Executive Committee Members and asking questions that helped satisfy their curious mind. They were mesmerized by a tour of the call centre and the equipment at the switch rooms where they were given a basic working knowledge of how mobile telephony works by our team of Engineers.
The Managing Director addressing the children told them that he admired their curious minds and he was pleased that they were taking such a huge interest in the industry and asked how many of them would love to work at Airtel in the future. He said “take your studies seriously and one day, who knows, you will have the opportunity of working with Airtel”.
